 On Friday, we will have the Terry Fox run. Please bring a toonie to donate to the Terry Fox Run. Today, we participated in Orange Shirt Day.  Tomorrow is Orange Shirt Day! We had a busy week of learning in Room 8!  Please practice doing your Mathletics and Raz-Kids this weekend. Students should be reading 15-20 minutes each day to ensure they are progressing in their literacy learning. Students are also expected to be practicing Mathletics activities 2-3 times a week.  "We did science.  There is no school on Friday. I have sent home your Mathletics cards today. Students in Grade 1 are expected to do Mathletics activities 2-3 times a week to help their learning. I also have sent parents an email about our Google Classroom. Please practice logging. Students are NOT expected to do the work on there, unless they are sick for more than 2 days. Thanks!  This year, we are having a "litterless" lunch. This means we are NOT putting garbage, compost, or recycling in the bins at school. Students are bringing their trash from their snacks and their lunches home with them. If you would like, you can send a ziploc bag for your child to put their garbage inside it to keep their lunch kit clean.  Today, your child learned how to use Raz-Kids. Your child has their password and username in their backpack. Please use Raz-Kids to practice reading at home!  Students in Grade 1 should be practicing reading for 20 minutes at home each day. Students can use books, or Raz-Kids, or work on their alphabet to do their 20 minutes of reading a day. This should begin as soon as possible! We had an amazing first week as one big class of Grade Ones. I am so impressed with how the students have followed the new routines and adjusted to all of the sanitizing and mask-wearing.
